Achievement of BLISS: Cheers to the Efforts of the people of Indore and Ujjain for achieving Great Succes in Dhamma Mahotsav on Avantika Buddha Stupa of Ujjain 2nd widely successful Grand Dhamma Parishad named as Mahastup Mahotsav at the site of Avantiaka Buddha Stupa (Vaishya Tekadi) in Ujjain on 07-02-2015.

BLISS had commenced its Mission by creating World’s First Website of Buddhist sites (ancient Caves, Stupas, Pillars, Inscriptions, Statues, Viharas etc) named as www.buddhistheritage.net. It was begun with ambitious desire that anybody on this planet can get information of Buddhist Sites on a click of button. (This website was inaugurated in Feb-2010 at the site of Lenyadri Buddha Leni in Junnar near Pune city. This Leni is appropriated by Brahmins by smearing Buddha Statue somewhere around in the period of 18-19th century in the reins of Peshwas in Maharashtra.) It is declared by them as the place of Greatest Ganpati in world. Information of Buddhist Sites were collected from the books of D C Ahir, M S More, Rhys David, James Burges, Volumes of Cunningham etc. This website is hacked in 2012 and could not be recovered back. But BLISS has now created a new website named as www.buddhistheritage.net.

Information of almost all the Buddhist Sites was uploaded on this website. Details of Avantika Buddha Stupa was also on that website. BLISS had started gathering the details of interested activists all over India through all possible media like Facebook, Programs, Pamphlets, Books, Referral contacts, associations, organisations etc, for conservation of the Buddha Stupas and awakening the masses. A few contacts were found in Ujjain and Indore. But from 2009 to 2013 there wasn’t any fruitful movement to implement BLISS Mission. Later when the BLISS activist himself visited Avantika Buddha Stupa in Ujjain along with Mr Buddhanath Ganvir and Mr Uttam Pradhan of Indore, the action ball started rolling.

Ujjain is 56 Kms from Indore. Mr Ganvir and Pradhaji took hold of their associates in Indore and also a History Writer as well as Dhamma Activist of Ujjain Dr Ramkumar Ahirwar. Dr Ahirwar is HOD of Department of Culture and History, School of Studies in Ancient Indian History, Vikram Univercity, Ujjain. He had written many books on the basis of his astounding analysis of History of Malwa and Ujjain. He was already working for awakening the people about the Avantika Buddha Stupa and had conducted program on Buddha Purnima there.

Mr Shashikant Wankhede, Mr Suresh Bagade, Mr More, Mr Purushottam Sawang, Ramesh Songra, Mahila Mandal of Ujjain and Indore, Various Buddhist Organisations, Bhartiya Bauddh Mahasabha, Ambedkar Yuva Sangh and many other people and organisations came together with Mr Ganvirji and Pradhanji. The first Historical Grand Dhamma Parishad was held on the Avantika Buddha Stupa in the month of Feb-2015. They named it as Mahastup Mahotsav. Thousands of people had participated in this Mahotsav in that year. And now in this year the mob zoomed to 10 times more than the last year. Organisors had invited Ven Bhante Benegala Uptissa of Sri Lanka as Chief Guest. He offered Buddha Vandana at the foot hill of the Stupa. Around 50 Monks from all over India presided the program and Mahaparitran Sutta Path at Stupa. All the Monks and Upasakas offered reverence to the Stupa by circumambulating.

Program was attended by Mr S Anand Krishna, Principal Income Tax Commissioner, Thane, Dr R S Kureel, Vice Chancellor of Dr Ambedkar University Mhow, Mr Keshari Chaudhari, Ex Minister of Madhya Pradesh, Congress MLA Mr Patwari, Meena Vijay Jaunwal, Mayor of Ujjain, Ex MP Mrs Priti Bhargav and many more dignitaries from Ujjain from all religion and political parties. Each one praised the efforts of organisors in their speech and expressed the wish that such programs shall be arranged at every Buddha Stupa and Lenis. Special presence on the dais, was of the Jat families who were opposing to the program because the surrounding lands of Stupa are been in their name (might have been a conspiracy in past). Ven Bhante Benegala mentioned that he arrived to this place because there are the stupas constructed on the remains of Sanghmitra and Mahendra. The program was well organised and maintained by SSD along with their special salute to Buddha Stupa. This may be first Salute to Buddha Stupa by SSD. All the leader of area expressed their heartily enthusiasm to put their efforts to instill the past glory of Stupa by remaking it to the form the Sanchi. Program was a great success, this year too. We should thank to the efforts of all the organisors. BLISS thinks such programs shall happen all over India on all stupas and Lenis, so that the Past Buddhist History of India will get enliven and the day will not be far away when the people from other religions will realize that their aboriginal religion was Buddhism, which is full of love, kindness, justice and equality and will not hesitate to embrace it with full zeal and gusto.
